About this layer
Some trees are destinations in their own right: giants, very old trees and trees with a story. This layer maps named, landmark and natural-monument trees recorded in OpenStreetMap, with data © OpenStreetMap contributors under the ODbL. You will find famous individual trees in parks alongside local landmarks that a town is proud of.
Use it to add a short stop to a road trip, plan a walk or find a tree worth photographing in good light. Many old trees are fragile, so stay on paths and do not climb them or walk on their roots. Pair it with National Park Service Sites, Waterfalls and Viewpoints for a nature day.
