About this layer

The Bureau of Land Management runs developed campgrounds across some of the emptiest country in the West: desert canyons, river corridors and high plateaus. This layer shows 563 BLM developed campgrounds from BLM's National Recreation Sites data, with fee and reservation information wherever the agency lists it.

BLM campgrounds are often small and simple, and many are first come, first served, which makes them useful when national park campgrounds are full. Pair this layer with Land Ownership to see the BLM land around each site, or with Dispersed Camping if you want free primitive options nearby. It works well for planning trips around places like southern Utah, Nevada, Idaho and eastern Oregon, where BLM land is everywhere.
