About this layer

Little Free Libraries and other public book boxes let anyone take a book or leave one. This layer maps 9,123 book boxes in the US recorded in OpenStreetMap, with data © OpenStreetMap contributors under the ODbL. They show up in neighborhoods, parks and outside libraries, and finding them is part of the fun.

Use the layer to plan a walk or bike ride that passes a few boxes, find a place to drop off books you have finished, or see how common they are in your city. Coverage depends on local OpenStreetMap volunteers, so some neighborhoods are mapped in detail and others are blank. Adding missing boxes to OpenStreetMap improves the map for everyone.
